In snowboarding, there are no absolutes when it
comes to wrist guards. The guards protect the wrist
but transfer energy to the forearm. Since forearm injuries are
generally less
complicated than wrist injuries, wrist guards are generally
recommended. But this
really is a judgement call. You can rent these as well. If you
decide to do so, make
sure they fit with the gloves and/or mittens.
