Any hand not listed here is ranked below group 8.

Playing the first two cards form an early position

Early position is defined as the first three players to the left of the big blind.
In a normal game play only hands grouped 1 - 4.
- In a loose game add group 5, particularly suited connectors.
- In a tight game game muck group 4 hands.
Occasionaly vary play with suited connectors.
If there is a raise, play only 1 & 2.
- If loose, add 3.
- If tight, only 1.
If no calls, raise w/ AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ.
If calls, raise w/ group 1 & 2.

Playing the first two cards from a middle position

Middle position is defined as the 4th, 5th, and 6th to the left of the big blind.
Play groups 1 - 5 in typical or tight game.
- If loose, add 6.
The weaker your opponents the more hands you can play (this contridicts ...).
If raised, reraise w/ AA, KK, QQn and AK.
If no calls, raise w/ 1, 2, 3.
If calls, raise w/ 1 & 2. Raise w/ 3 occasionaly.

Playing the first two cards form a late position

Late position is defined as the button and the one or two players to the button's right.
If first in, raise w/ all playable hands (1 - 7, 8 if many callers but no raise).
If callers, raise and reraise w/ 1, 2, & 3.
Raise may "but the button".
